GREG Slaughter has been ruled out of the Philippines’ match against Qatar in the Fiba Basketball World Cup Asian qualifiers due to an ankle injury.
National coach Yeng Guiao said Slaughter remains unfit for the match against Qatar and will no longer be included in the 12-man roster.
“Si Greg, I think, is not going to be available. Wala na talaga,” said Guiao on Saturday.
Slaughter suffered a severe ankle injury during Barangay Ginebra’s match against NorthPort in the PBA Governors’ Cup, forcing him to miss Team Pilipinas’ match against Iran on Thursday in Tehran.
Despite being injured, Slaughter was present in all of Team Pilipinas’ practices in Manila in the lead-up to the match against Iran. Slaughter also joined the trip to Tehran to show support to the Gilas Pilipinas squad.
