    Serbia sustains World Cup rampage with 43-point rout of Puerto Rico

    SERBIA continued its rampage, demolishing Puerto Rico, 90-47, on Friday at the start of the second round of the 2019 Fiba Basketball World Cup in Wuhan.

    Nemanja Bjelica scored 18 points and Boban Marjanovic posted 16 points as the world's No. 4 ranked team moved closer to a spot in the quarterfinals.

    The Serbians have won by an average of 40.75 points per game in this year's World Cup on the way to a 4-0 win-loss record in Group J.

    One of those victories was a 126-67 win over Gilas Pilipinas.

    In other second-round results, Adam Waczynski had 18 points as Poland beat Russia, 79-74, to go 4-0 in Group I.

    Iran, meanwhile, beat Angola, 71-62, in Group N to pick up its first win in the competition.


    Mohammadsamad Nik Khahbahrami had 21 points for Iran, which put itself in contention for the lone outright spot for Asia in the Olympics.

    Nigeria beat Ivory Coast, 83-66, in Group M.
