SERBIA made known its intention to make it deep in this year’s FIBA World Cup after blowing away China, 105-63, in the two teams' debut on Saturday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Team Dragons were in the game only in the early part, before the Eagles went to work and pulled away for good at the break, 55-34.

Bogdan Bogdanovic and Vanja Marinkovic each had 14 points to steer Serbia to the 42-point rout against the hapless Chinese, who ironically, are now handled by former Serbian coach Sasha Dordervic.
The controversial Serbian coach, incidentally, turned 56 also on Saturday.

The Minnessota Timberwolves forward was held scoreless in 25 minutes of play on 0-of-9 shooting. He had four rebounds and four assists.
The Eagles, who also got 13 points from Dusan Ristic, took the top spot in Group B along with Puerto Rico, a 101-96 winner in overtime against South Sudan.
