RJ Abarrientos once again waxed hot, propelling Gilas Pilipinas Men's 3x3 to a 22-15 win over Samoa to end the campaign in the 2019 Fiba 3x3 Asia Cup on a high note on Thursday in Changsha, China.
The sweet-shooting guard uncorked 14 points as his hot streak allowed the Filipinos to grab a 10-4 lead.
Theodore McFarland brought Samoa within two, 13-11, before Rhayyan Amsali strung four straight points.
Abarrientos then put on the finishing touches, wrapping up the game with a booming two-pointer with 2.4 seconds remaining.
Amsali finished with six points, as Barkley Ebona got two for Gilas Men's 3x3.
Ricci Rivero once again sat out the game as he no longer suited up for day two after spraining his ankle a day prior.
The Philippines finished its run with a 2-2 win-loss slate in Draw A, but that wasn't enough to get the Filipinos into the main draw.
McFarland and Ratu Levy both had five in the losing effort for the Samoans.
Philippines 22 - Abarrientos 14, Amsali 6, Ebona 2.
Samoa 15 - McFarland 5, Levy 5, Paia 3, Tufuga 2.
