RICCI Rivero is set to make his national seniors team debut when Team Pilipinas meets Jordan in a tuneup game at Meralco Gym on Monday night.
The University of the Philippines sensation joins a loaded national team priming for the fifth window of the 2019 Fiba World Cup Asian qualifiers when the Philippines meet Kazakhstan on November 30 and Iran on December 3 both at Mall of Asia Arena.
Joining Rivero in the night's crew are veterans June Mar Fajardo, Gabe Norwood, Jayson Castro, Marcio Lassiter, Alex Cabagnot, Arwind Santos, Troy Rosario, Matthew Wright, JP Erram, Beau Belga and Christian Standhardinger, who is serving as the team's naturalized player.
Rivero's fellow cadet, Kai Sotto, wasn't around. Also absent was Ian Sangalang, whose Magnolia team is in the PBA Governors Cup Finals.
Ginebra stalwarts LA Tenorio, Scottie Thompson, Greg Slaughter, and Japeth Aguilar, as well as Magnolia playmaker Paul Lee and NorthPort's Stanley Pringle, are also in the venue but are in street clothes.
