GILAS Pilipinas coach Chot Reyes bared that chances are slim for Jeron Teng to join the national team’s roster for the Jones Cup and Southeast Asian Games.
Reyes explained they already submitted the ‘accreditation list,’ where Teng was not included, for both leagues more than a month ago while the former La Salle star expressed his intention to join the pool a little too late.
"The problem is even before this final 12, there was already a list of 24 or 30 that was asked a month or so already," he said. "Kapag di ka nakasama dun di ka na talaga maipapasok. It's called the accreditation list."
"It's going to be difficult for Jeron to make it," Reyes added. "And that's what I told him when he asked if he could join the practices. I said sure, but there's really no assurance if he can make any line up simply because it's too late."

But the national team is not completely closing its doors on Teng.
Reyes made it clear that Teng, who is currently playing for Flying V in the PBA D-League, is more than welcome to practice with the team.
