RENALDO Balkman will reinforce Meralco when the Bolts compete in the 2019 Fiba Asia Champions Cup next month in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Puerto Rican will pair up with the Bolts' American import Allen Durham as coach Norman Black looks to improve on the team's fourth place finish last year.
Meralco got the nod to represent the country anew in the continental competition for club teams, set from September 24 to 29.
CBA champions Guangdong Southern Tigers, KBL titlists Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus, Japanese B.League kings Alvark Tokyo, as well as Fubon Braves from Chinese Taipei and Hi-Tech Bangkok City of Thailand are entered in the tournament.
Meralco fell to Seoul SK Knights in the bronze medal match of the 2018 tournament won by Iranian club Petrochimi.
