The seventh-seeded team of AJ Edu, Juan Gomez de Liano, Encho Serrano, and Rhayyan Amsali takes on Israel at 6:15 p.m. (Manila time) before the Nationals square off against top-seed Netherlands at 8:10 p.m.
Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas says it is the tallest team it has ever formed, led by Fil-Nigerian Edu at 6 feet and 9 inches. Three-time Fiba Asia 3x3 team member Amsali is 6 feet 3, UAAP Season 79 Most Valuable Player Gomez de Liano is 6’2” and Serrano 5’11”.
The Nationals will have a slight height advantage against the Israel squad that has Tal Hadad (6-foot-3), Guy Palatin (6-foot-3), Tamir Schiller (6-foot-1) and Alon Druker (5-foot-10).
The Dutch cagers have a tall line-up with Calvin Poulina (6-foot-7), Maik Bouwer (6-foot-6), Reva Tholel (6-foot-6) and 6-foot-3 Boyd Van Der Vuurst De Vries.
