GEMMA Miranda has been ruled out of the Gilas Pilipinas Women's team for the 30th Southeast Asian Games owing to an ACL tear on her left knee.
"I feel for Gemma because she really wanted this," said national coach Pat Aquino. "She's definitely a big loss because aside from her production, she's also one of our leaders."
The 5-8 winger was supposed to suit up in the women's 5x5 basketball competitions, which will be held from December 4 to 10 at Mall of Asia Arena.
The news broke the heart of the 24-year-old from National University.
With Miranda out, Aquino has yet to name a replacement, although sources bared the team is looking to tap Adamson super scorer Mar Prado.
