WITH the Fiba Asia Champions Cup just four days away, the Philippine team backed by Chooks-To-Go remained without a finalized roster as another new face joined the practice at the Meralco Gym on Monday.
Monbert Arong was the newest face in the Chooks-To-Go Pilipinas' practice as the former Far Eastern University standout joined 17 others in the team's penultimate training before leaving for China on Wednesday for the Fiba Asia Champions Cup.
Chooks coach Chot Reyes has yet to announce the final lineup for the September 22-30 club league where they could meet naturalized player Andray Blatche.
Joining Arong were naturalized player prospect Isaiah Austin, Alaska forward Carl Bryan Cruz, Kia playmaker LA Revilla, and TnT reserves Norbert Torres and Alfrancis Tamsi.
Also in attendance were amateur stars Kiefer Ravena, Jeron Teng, Raymar Jose, Jett Manuel, Andre Paras, and JK Casino.
Completing Monday's attendees were Almond Vosotros, Gab Banal, Achie Iñigo, Jeric Teng, and Jamal Thomas and Rod Ebondo.
Reyes is looking to tap Ebondo due to concerns on Bright Akhuetie's UAAP eligibility. Akhuetie is serving his residency with the University of the Philippines.
Ebondo showed his wares in a tuneup game last Saturday, lifting the team to a 95-83 win over NLEX-SCTEX with game-high 26 markers.
