CHRIS Goulding's controversial tweet is fake.
Goulding came under fire on social media for a supposed tweet lambasting the Philippines and using derogatory remarks including calling the Filipinos "monkeys" and "trash."
But Basketball Australia media manager Grant Richardson made it clear the tweet is fake.
"I can categorically state that tweet is not real and is 100 percent photoshopped," wrote Richardson when SPIN.ph sought clarification through email.
Goulding was at the center of a full-blown brawl that marred Australia's game against host Gilas Pilipinas in the third window of the Fiba World Cup 2019 Asian qualifiers.
His shoving match with RR Pogoy of Gilas sparked the fracas that led to 13 ejections from both sides - and led to a controversy that simmers to this day.
