KAI Sotto will be traveling with Gilas Pilipinas to Guam for the FIBA World Cup qualifiers despite still not being cleared to play.
Coach Tim Cone disclosed that Sotto will be joining the team when it departs to the US territory on Nov. 24.
"Kai is coming to town and he will be going with us too, to Guam," he said as Gilas began its training camp for the first window of the qualifiers.

Cone added Sotto, who is recovering from an ACL injury, will also be showing up during the national team's practices.
"He won't play but he is going to attend," said Cone of the 7-foot-3 center.
"He wants to support the team and we're really happy he's coming. So we'll see what he can do."
Despite still being sidelined, Sotto was included by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas in the 18-man list it submitted to FIBA for the opening window.

Sotto last suited up for Gilas during the Asia Cup qualifiers when the national team beat New Zealand and Hong Kong in back-to-back fashion last November.
By January, he went down with the injury while playing for the Koshigaya Alphas in the B. League, leading to his absence in the Asia Cup proper in Saudi Arabia last August.
