THE PBA hasn’t receive any communication from the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) regarding Gilas Pilipinas’ campaign in the FIBA Asia Cup qualifier this November.
Commissioner Willie Marcial said SBP President Al S. Panlilio didn’t mention about the scheduled meet to be held in a bubble likely in Thailand.
“Walang sinasabi sa amin ang SBP regarding sa November,” said Marcial on Thursday.
What the SBP told the league is the second leg of the qualifier in February, reason why the PBA moved its opening for season 46 by March.
“Ang sinabi sa akin February ni president Al Panlilio,” added Marcial. “Yung November, wala pa kaming pinag-uusapan doon.”
Panlilio is also the Meralco representative to the PBA Board.
The league would be in the middle of the Philippine Cup inside the bubble at the Clark Freeport in Pampanga by the time Gilas Pilipinas plays South Korea and Thailand.
Nonetheless, Marcial said the PBA’s support to the SBP and national cause remains solid.
“All-out support pa rin ang PBA. Wala pa ring pagbabago,” he stressed.
“Yun pa rin ang sinasabi ng team owners, governors. Kung ano ang kailangan ng SBP, kung ano maitutulong namin, ibibigay ng PBA. All-out support pa rin kami, one hundred percent.”
