Philippines winds up in 17th place in Fiba 3x3 World Under-18 Championship

THE Philippines finished 17th out of 20 countries after posting a lone win in the group stage of the 2016 Fiba 3x3 U18 World Championship in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Joshua Sinclair, John Lloyd Clemente, Kyle Christian Tan, and Theo Joshua Flores beat Hungary, 18-17, in the preliminaries of Pool D but the Philippines lost three matches including in the final day against Spain.

The failed to reach the playoff round of the tournament won by Qatar, which beat Brazil, 20-12, in the gold medal match.

Italy took the bronze after beating New Zealand, 21-14.
