GILAS Pilipinas got a taste of a proud New Zealand tradition when the Tall Blacks performed the haka dance before their match on Wednesday in the Fiba Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

The Nationals held each other as the Tall Blacks performed the traditional war dance done in front of a hostile Filipino crowd at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The haka dance drew a smattering of boos from the Filipino crowd, but the Tall Blacks were later cheered at the end of the war dance made famous by the world champions NZ All Blacks in rugby union.
