Malaysia beats Indonesia in opener of Seaba Under-16 championship

MALAYSIA beat Indonesia, 63-58, on Sunday in the opening game of the Seaba Under-16 Championship at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

John Tang had 23 points and nine rebounds for the Malaysians, who finished the game with an 8-2 run.

Jason Khor had 11 points including five in the closing run after the Indonesians took a 57-55 lead with 4:40 left in the fourth period.

Run Sam Yap had 10 points while Yi Kang Teoh had five points but had 11 rebounds and eight assists for the Malaysians.

Darryl Sebastian finished with 12 points for Indonesia.
