LeBron James to be playing-coach in game pitting current and former Gilas players
LeBron James is set to play alongside current and former Gilas players in an exhibition game on September that serves as highlight of his 'Strive for Greatness Show.'

FILIPINO fans get a chance to see LeBron James sharing the same floor, and possibly playing, with Gilas Pilipinas players when the NBA superstar makes his third visit to the Philippines on September 2.

James will be serving as the Gilas playing-coach in an exhibition game pitting the current national team that saw action in the Fiba Asia Cup in Lebanon against former Gilas stars at the Mall of Asia Arena.

As playing-coach, James will most most likely at some point play alongside current Gilas stars Calvin Abueva, Jayson Castro, June Mar Fajardo, Matthew Wright and Roger Pogoy in a game serving as a highlight to his 'Strive for Greatness Show.'

Although the lineups have not been finalized, the Gilas legends side will most likely be bannered by Marc Pingris, Ranidel De Ocampo, Jimmy Alapag, and Dondon Hontiveros.

The one-off match will see "the country’s finest basketball players going head-to-head in a spectacle of competition and basketball culture," said Nike in a media statement.

Nike will also release three shoes linked to the Lebron James Tour Manila 2017 in limited quantities, from September 1 to 3, the statement said.

The identity of the shoes will be only be revealed 23 hours before the shoe launch.
