KOBE Paras joined Jeron Teng and Kiefer Ravena in their first practice as the team that will carry the flag in the Fiba 3x3 World Cup in Nantes, France.

The three seemed to have already gotten the hang of playing with each other during the training that lasted for over an hour, with Paras just thrilled to teaming up with Teng and Ravena, players he looked up to when he was just a kid.

"It was good. When I was a kid, I was looking up to Jeron and Kiefer. I'm excited. As you saw, okay naman practice namin," he told SPIN.ph.

The trio’s chemistry bodes well for the national team looking to surpass its ninth place finish last year, according to Paras.

This early, the 19-year-old basketball prodigy believes this team, although still looking for a replacement for Raymar Jose, can make waves in the June 17-21 showpiece.

The Philippines is grouped with European champions Slovenia and Romania.

"We watched the videos ng mga nag-champion sa Europe, kaya naman namin," he said.

"Tiwala lang naman kasi.... It doesn't matter kung sino kalaro mo, kailangan lang may puso."

Right now, Paras is making the most of his stay here before returning to Los Angeles on Thursday to workout with his new teammates at Cal State Northridge.

Paras transferred to the said college after one season with Creighton where he saw limited action.

"From LA didiretso na ako ng France. So we're gonna make the most of my stay here then I'm going to practice when I'm free," he said.
