JAPETH Aguilar thanked the fans who expressed support, particularly when he was not fielded in during Gilas Pilipinas’ match against France in the Fiba Olympic Qualifying Tournament on Wednesday.

Aguilar said he was touched by the gesture of the fans following the match against France when he didn’t play a single minute in the 93-84 loss by Gilas Pilipinas, as chants even rang out inside the Mall of Asia Arena during the game.

“Maraming, maraming salamat talaga sa suporta nila. Talagang kahit papaano, tinry nila akong i-cheer,” said the Barangay Ginebra big man.

Aguilar finally saw action for Gilas Pilipinas on Thursday, going scoreless and committing one turnover in limited minutes in what turned out to be his last game in this Fiba OQT as the Philippines was booted out by New Zealand, 89-80.

The Gilas big man said he accepted the decision of Gilas Pilipinas coach Tab Baldwin wholeheartedly, and is not out to question his decision.

“Desisyon talaga ni coach. Pero kung nagkaroon ako ng opportunity, I was really ready for that game,” Aguilar said.
