ISAIAH Austin was gradually finding his groove on the third day of Gilas Pilipinas' training for the Fiba Asia Champions Cup.

With the tournament kicking off next week, Austin seemed to be in full strength on Friday night as he joined 14 others in a practice facilitated by head coach Chot Reyes.

The 7-foot-1 Austin, who arrived in the country Tuesday night, did some shooting drills with his teammates who will play under Chooks-To-Go before practice commenced at the Meralco Gym.

With Andray Blatche doubtful for the World Cup qualifiers in November, the former Baylor standout is being eyed as Gilas’ naturalized player.

His mettle will be tested in the China showpiece starting on September 22.

Joining him in training were amateur standouts Kiefer Ravena, Raymar Jose, Jeron Teng, Jett Manuel, JK Casino, and Andre Paras.

Also in attendance were Norbert Torres, Almond Vosotros, Jeric Teng, Alfrancis Tamsi, Achie Inigo, and Gab Banal.

Completing Wednesday's attendees were Nigerian Bright Akhuetie and Centro Escolar University slotman Rod Ebondo.
