GILAS Pilipinas practice intensified on Thursday night as the Fiba Asia Cup and Southeast Asian Games squads played in separate controlled scrimmages throughout the two-hour session.

In their second-to-last practice before flying to Lebanon, the Fiba Asia Cup-bound team submitted an almost complete attendance with only two players absent.

Calvin Abueva, Terrence Romeo, Japeth Aguilar, Gabe Norwood, Raymond Almazan, Matthew Wright, Roger Pogoy, Jio Jalalon, Carl Cruz, and Christian Standhardinger were the ones present at the Meralco gym.

Jayson Castro and June Mar Fajardo, who are in the middle of playing two games in three days for TNT and San Miguel, respectively, in the PBA Governors' Cup, were the ones absent.

Pogoy, also a TNT standout, was present, though, in the practice where Canadian coach Tim Lewis played a more active role.

The SEA Games squad, led by Kiefer Ravena and Ray Parks, also took part in controlled scrimmages when the Fiba Asia squad took a break.
