GILAS Pilipinas continued its buildup for the Fiba World Cup qualifiers without much fanfare as it held another practice behind closed doors at the Meralco gym on Tuesday morning.

Jayson Castro, June Mar Fajardo, Calvin Abueva, Gabe Norwood, Troy Rosario, Matthew Wright, Raymond Almazan, and Allein Maliksi led the players in attendance.

Young guns Mac Belo, Carl Cruz, Roger Pogoy, Kevin Alas, and Kiefer Ravena completed the 13-man cast for the first part of their two-a-day practice on Tuesday.

Terrence Romeo has yet to report for duty, while Japeth Aguilar of back-to-back Governors’ Cup champion Ginebra was absent for the third straight day.

Romeo has been in Saudi Arabia since last week on a promotional tour for Peak.

Security staff at the Meralco gym said they were informed that the closed-door sessions could go on for the entire duration of the training camp before Gilas flies to Tokyo to face Japan on November 24 at the start of the Fiba World Cup qualifiers.
