Gilas has to make do holding first practice for Jones Cup on a concrete Taipei gym

GILAS Pilipinas had a rude welcome in its first practice session for the 2015 Jones Cup in Taipei after training on a cemented gym a day before hostilities in the annual cage tournament get underway.

Assistant coach Josh Reyes wrote about the team’s predicament Saturday on his Instagram account, adding the gym also has leak on the roof.

On the other hand, he noted how the host team, which Gilas faces for its first opponent on Sunday, held practice at the main gym.

“So we practiced on this side gym with concrete flooring and leaky roof, while the home team who we play tomorrow was in the main arena. ???? #labanpilipinas #parasabayan,” wrote Reyes.

Gilas Pilipinas is using the 37th edition of the cage meet as part of its buildup for the Fiba-Asia Championship in Changsha, China.
