GILAS Pilipinas cut short its practice on Monday due to lack of players at the Meralco gym.

The usually two-hour training was reduced to less than an hour as only eight players were ready to join the training while eight others were in street clothes, resting either after a PBA game last Sunday or prior to a game on Tuesday.

Assistant coach Jong Uichico called the shots in lieu of coach Tab Baldwin, who was in the US to be with his family that's mourning the death of his brother, Terry.

"We did what we could do," Uichico said. "We tried to keep it short as we can na may ginawa naman kami na mapapagod naman sila."

“Every (practice) day is different,” the Tropang TNT mentor added. “Although some are similar, we always try to do something different para umuusad ba. Hindi pabalik-balik.”

The national team ran a few offensive drills the entire practice.

“We touched on something that’s more specific on the dribble-drive attack,” Uichico said.
