THE Philippines stunned Romania, 21-19, on Wednesday to open its campaign in the 2016 Fiba 3x3 World Championship in China on a high note.

The team of Mac Belo, Russel Escoto, Glenn Khobuntin, and Karl Dehesa took the early lead in the team standings by picking apart a Romanian side that is seeded sixth in the competition.

The Philippine team hopes to continue its giant-killing when it faces Spain, ranked 11th in the competition, on Wednesday night.
