France's Evan Fournier vacations in Palawan, months before facing Gilas in Olympic qualifier
Evan Fournier of the Orlando Magic is shown shooting hoops in Palawan, months before playing for France in the Manila Olympic qualifiers.

EVAN Fournier has quietly slipped into the country for a vacation in Palawan, a few months before he returns to the Philippines to play for France in the Fiba Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

In an Instagram post, the French player of the Orlando Magic is seen taking shooting practice in a basketball goal that is attached to a tree in a beach.

“It’s practice time in #Palawan #philippines,” wrote Fournier on his Instagram account @evanfournier10.

Of course, the photo was met with amusement by Filipino basketball fans since Fournier is expected to play for France in the coming Fiba Olympic Qualifying Tournament in July.

France is, of course, bracketed with Gilas Pilipinas in Group B of the tournament where only one spot in the Rio Olympic Games will be at stake.

“Nagppractice na kalaban natin,” wrote one of his Instagram followers.

France will play the Philippines on opening day, July 5, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
