ANDRAY Blatche showed up for the first time, and so did controversial Calvin Abueva as Gilas Pilipinas resumed its training at the Meralco gym for the third window of the FIBA World Cup qualifiers.

The 31-year-old Blatche joined the team in practice after arriving in the country last Saturday while Abueva was seen in public for the first time since going AWOL with Alaska that led to his indefinite suspension.

The bad Monday night weather didn't prevent regular members of the training pool from sweating it out at the Meralco gym where they were joined by the Gilas cadets.

Members of the training pool present aside from Blatche and Abueva were Terrence Romeo, Jayson Castro, Gabe Norwood, Jio Jalalon, Matthew Wright, Carl Bryan Cruz, Mac Belo, Japeth Aguilar, Baser Amer, Abu Tratter, and Kobe Paras.

Early birds among the cadets meanwhile, were Arvin Tolentino, Thirdy Ravena, Isaac Go, Robert Bolick, and Ricci Rivero.
