Ateneo star guard Matt Nieto joins Gilas Pilipinas practice for first time

MATT Nieto showed up for the first time in Gilas Pilipinas' training at the Meralco Gym on Monday.

The Ateneo guard is part of the 23-man pool for the 2023 FIBA World Cup which the Philippines will co-host with Japan and Indonesia. 

Also present from the said cadets pool were Isaac Go, Thirdy Ravena, CJ Perez, Abu Tratter, Will Gozum, J-Jay Alejandro, Arvin Tolentino, Juan Gomez de Liano.

Joshua Sinclair was also present but was in street clothes. 

Meanwhile, 10 members of the pool for the second window of the 2019 Fiba World Cup qualifiers in February joined Monday's practice, namely June Mar Fajardo, Gabe Norwood, Troy Rosario, Jio Jalalon, Mac Belo, Kiefer Ravena, Kevin Alas, and Roger Pogoy. 

Jayson Castro and Carl Cruz were present but didn't participate in the drills.

Fresh frim his trip abroad, national team coach Chot Reyes was back to oversee Monday's training where he was joined by PBA officer in charge Willie Marcial.
