NEW Zealand turned to Flynn Cameron and Mojave King on offense while stifling Chinese Taipei on the other end to take a massive 118-78 rout and claim the outright quarterfinals spot in Group C of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 on early Sunday morning (Philippine time) at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Cameron finished with 28 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and two steals while King added 22 points and eight boards as the two took turns in pummeling Chinese Taipei after a fairly first quarter.

Ben Gold and Taylor Britt added 14 apiece for the Tall Blacks who will now be waiting for the winner of the qualification to the quarterfinals match between the second seed of Group B which will be disputed by Guam and Japan later, and the third seed of Group A, which would be the loser of the Lebanon - Korea match also later in the day.

Chinese Taipei's offense spluttered all night long, with their seemingly impeccable shooting from the Gilas game all but a distant memory now.

As a team, Taipei made just 25-of-74 of their shots, good for 33.8 percent. They did hit 10 threes but needed 39 shots to get there good for only 25.6 percent from downtown.

The Hinton brothers, Robert and Adam, led the way for Taipei with 24 and 16 points respectively but they found little help from the usual suspects like Ying-Chun Chen, who once again fired blanks from downtown after exploding versus Gilas.

Now, Chinese Taipei battles Group C third seed Jordan in the qualification to the quarterfinal phase, with the winner facing Group A top seed Iran.
