GILAS Pilipinas buckled down to work on Monday night to start preparations for the 30th Southeast Asian Games under head coach Tim Cone.
All members of the 15-man pool with the exception of June Mar Fajardo were present in Monday’s practice at the Meralco Gym supervised by Cone, who took over the Gilas job from Yeng Guiao at the end of the Fiba World Cup.
Present were the six Barangay Ginebra players named by Cone to the pool, namely LA Tenorio, Stanley Pringle, Scottie Thompson, Japeth Aguilar, Greg Slaughter, and Art Dela Cruz.
Chris Ross, Marcio Lassiter, and Christian Standhardinger of San Miguel were present as well as TNT cagers Jayson Castro, RR Pogoy, and Troy Rosario. Matthew Wright of Phoenix Pulse and Vic Manuel of Alaska round up the list.

Scenes before Monday’s practice were different from the past, with Barangay Ginebra staff, including Cone, clad in their red team shirts instead of the blue Gilas Pilipinas shirts.
Cone kicked off practice with a team briefing before Gilas closed the doors to media and fans alike.
