KARL-ANTHONY Towns, Al Horford and Chris Duarte lead the Dominican Republic's extended roster for the Fiba Basketball World Cup in the Philippines next month.
The three NBA players will spearhead the 29-man roster that will be under consideration for the Dominican Republic roster that will compete in Group A led by Gilas Pilipinas.

Also in the extended roster are Andres Feliz, Gelvis Solano, Jean Montero, Richard Bautista, Victor Liz, Rigoberto Mendoza, LJ Figueroa, Lester Quinones, Juan Suero, Gerardo Suero, Luis Montero, Justin Minaya, Jassel Perez, Angel Delgado, Eloy Vargas, Jonathan Araujo, Juan Guerrero, Antonio Pena, Luis Santos, Joel Soriano, Yaxel Lendenborg, Eddy Polanco, Anyeuri Castillo, Miguel Dicent, Brandone Francis, and Sadiel Rojas.
The Dominican Republic will open its campaign in the Fiba Basketball World Cup against the Philippines on Aug. 25 at the Philippine Arena.

Towns has been formally included in the pool after the Minnesota Timberwolves star expressed his desire to play for Dominican Republic months back. Towns had already played for Dominican Republic in the 2013 Fiba Americup.
Horford has also been included although the last time the 37-year-old Boston Celtics cager played for the national team was in 2012 during the Fiba Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
Among the three, Duarte was the most recent to play for Dominican Republic during one of the windows in the Americas qualifiers.
