NANDO De Colo of France was adjudged the Most Valuable Player of the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Manila.

The 29-year-old De Colo capped off his performance in the qualifiers by finishing with 22 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals in France’s 83-74 win over Canada in the battle for the last spot in the Rio Olympics.

The French however, put premium on what the team accomplished more than his personal glory in an interview with reporters shortly after the win.

“Rio Olympic Games is special for an athlete. We did a great job doing it this week,” said De Colo, who plays for CSKA Moscow in the Russia domestic league.

De Colo shared the spotlight with Tony Parker, who lit up the scoreboard with 26 points in the title victory over Canada.
