    Mongolia bursts PH team bubble with pinpoint shooting in Fiba 3x3 World Cup

    BOCAUE — Mongolia found its stroke from long distance just in time to deal the Philippines a 21-17 defeat on Saturday in the 2018 Fiba 3x3 World Cup at the Philippine Arena.

    The loss dropped the 19th-ranked Philippines to 1-1 in Pool C and served as a reality check for the hosts after the high of a 15-7 win over No. 6 Brazil in the 20-team showpiece.

    Tsenguunbayar Gotov drained seven points including a pair of two-pointers, none bigger that the game-clinching long bomb that gave the Mongolians the four-point victory.

    Delgernyam Davaasambuu and Tserenbaatar Enkhtaivan each scored six points as they collectively dampened the mood of a sizeable crowd inside the world’s largest indoor arena.

      The Philippines rounds up its schedule on Monday when it takes on Canada and Russia.
