EVEN though he's excused from joining Gilas' Tuesday night practice, guard Mike Tolomia opted to do otherwise.
In his very own words, it's part of his commitment and sacrifice for flag and country.
"Alam ko naman kasi madami akong matututunan dito sa Gilas pool," he said after training in Day Two of the national team's daily grind at the Meralco gym as it prepares for the Southeast Asian Basketball Association (Seaba) Championship.
Coach Chot Reyes has enforced a rule excusing from practicing players who have games in the PBA Commissioner's Cup the day before or on the day of training itself.
Terrence Romeo, Raymund Almazan, and five others were given the day off from Gilas training, but Tolomia opted to train even if Rain or Shine has a game against Phoenix on Wednesday.
"Nasa akin naman yun kung mag-practice ako o hindi," said the Gilas cadet.
