MARCIO Lassiter is starting to regain the rhythm after struggling in the two previous games for the Philippine team in the Fiba Basketball World Cup Asian qualifiers.
Lassiter groped for form in Gilas’ previous matches against Iran and Qatar where he combined for 2 of 12 from three-point range. But on Friday night in a tune-up match against Lebanon, Lassiter equaled that tally from that two matches in finishing with 11 points in a 74-68 loss.
National coach Yeng Guiao is happy that he is starting to see the shooting stroke that Lassiter has became known for in his stint with San Miguel in the PBA.
“Marcio has been shooting well this past few games. We hope it holds up until the window,” said Guiao.
In their road game against Iran, Lassiter shot 1 of 7 from downtown and will try to make up for that on Dec. 3 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
“Wala naman akong worry about that. I feel that what happened during the Qatar game and the Iran game was the exception rather than the rule,” Guiao said.
