LUKA Doncic thanked the Filipino fans for their enormous support to him, and he hopes to repay them with a win in the classification round of the 2023 Fiba Basketball World Cup.
Doncic got the most cheers on Wednesday during Slovenia’s first game in Manila after playing the first two rounds of the competition in Okinawa, Japan. Some Filipino fans came to the game wearing Doncic jerseys and shirts of either Slovenia or his NBA ballclub Dallas Mavericks.

On the contrary, spectators at the MOA Arena lustiliy booed Dillon Brooks, who recently drew fans' ire during the NBA playoffs when he was playing for the Memphis Grizzlies and had a spat with Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.
The night ended in disappointment for Slovenia, however, as it suffered a 100-89 loss to Canada, with Doncic also getting ejected in the forth after being called his second technical foul.
Doncic said he has noticed the fanbase and is very thankful about it. The Mavericks star said they will do their best to play well in the classification round where they will play against Lithuania.
The winner of the Slovenia-Lithuania game will go up against either Italy or Latvia in a match for fifth place in the classification round.
“I really appreciate the love,” said Doncic. “It has been amazing. So many fans, they support me.”
