GILAS Pilipinas had a team dinner on Sunday night before they plunge into action in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025.
The Nationals ate together at a steak house in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to enjoy each other’s company before the start of the tournament on Tuesday (Wednesday early morning Manila time) where they take on Chinese Taipei.

Bracketed in Group D, Gilas Pilipinas will also face New Zealand on Thursday, and Iraq on Saturday.
Interestingly, there was a non-Gilas player who was also present in the dinner in Jericho Cruz. The recently-crowned PBA Philippine Cup Finals MVP was seen in photos posted by the PBA’s Facebook page.
Of course, the San Miguel player is also in Jeddah as he represents Guam in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025. Guam will not be facing Gilas Pilipinas, at least in the group stage, as it is in Group B along with Japan, Syria, and Iran.
Gilas program director Alfrancis Chua is also Cruz’s boss being the sports director of San Miguel Corp.
