Lithuania and the US are seen as favorites at this stage based on their performance during the first two rounds of the competition. Lithuania is coming off a huge 110-104 win over USA to complete a five-game sweep of the two group stages and top Group J.
Serbia, on the other hand, closed the second round with a 4-1 win-loss record, clinching a spot in the quarterfinals with a 112-79 win over Dominican Republic.

Despite the loss, Team USA remains the odds-on favorite. Head coach Steve Kerr also said that the defeat could also turn out into a positive.
“[Lithuania] just punched us in the mouth right away,” said USA coach Steve Kerr. “They made every shot, they executed, so I don’t think it’s a case of us not being ready but a case of them playing a perfect first quarter. We understand how hard we’re gonna have to play to accomplish our goal.”
Italy has impressed in the World Cup, topping Group I with a 4-1 win-loss record, but found itself on a tough path in the knockout round.
Italy defeated Puerto Rico, 73-57, to clinch the top spot in their group.
The winner of the Italy-Lithuania match will face either Canada or Slovenia. On the other hand, Germany or Latvia awaits which team will come out of the Italy-USA match.
