A LITTLE over two weeks before the sixth window of the 2019 Fiba World Cup Asian qualifiers and Gilas Pilipinas drew a near-complete attendance for its early Tuesday evening session at Meralco Gym.
Marcio Lassiter showed up after missing Monday's session as he joins 11 other players in training - the second for naturalized player Andray Blatche as he familiarizes himself with national coach Yeng Guiao's system.
Also present for the day were June Mar Fajardo, Gabe Norwood, Troy Rosario, Roger Pogoy, JP Erram, Mark Barroca, and Scottie Thompson.
Paul Lee also returned after sitting out Monday's session due to an injured thumb, but
Japeth Aguilar remained in street clothes as he continues his recovery from his ankle sprain. Jayson Castro also opted to sit out due to nagging pain in his knee.
Only Raymond Almazan was absent for the practice.
TNT consultant Mark Dickel and assistant coach Josh Reyes were on hand to observe the training.
Gilas is gearing up its preparations for the final window of the Asian qualifiers, where it needs to sweep its road games against Qatar on Feb. 21 and Kazakhstan on Feb. 24.
The Philippines sits ib fourth place in Group F with its 5-5 card, with only the top three from both groups, as well as the best fourth-ranked team, earning a ticket to the global showpiece in China.
