AFTER burying the game-winning shot on Sunday, LA Tenorio will wear his coach’s hat the day after.

Aside from practicing with Barangay Ginebra early Monday, Tenorio will resume his Gilas Pilipinas Youth duties on the same day as they begin their preparation for the FIBA U16 Asia Cup to be held in August in Mongolia.

When he comes back to Gilas Youth duties, the 40-year-old Tenorio will be in a unique situation as he is fresh from draining a three-pointer with three seconds left for an 88-87 win that sent their PBA Philippine Cup semifinals vs San Miguel to a decider.

Tenorio said practices will continue with Batang Gilas in the event that Ginebra extends its season to the PBA Finals.

“That’s life. It’s a blessing. Kaya ‘yan. Mag-finals kami, we still practice. Wala eh, it’s July already tapos August ‘yung tournament,” said Tenorio.

While playing for Ginebra, Tenorio was also evaluating the composition of the Youth team, and has invited players, mostly taller, in order to beef up his frontline.

“It is what it is. Actually, I’m really looking forward to it. I’m also thinking about what’s going to happen in August, ‘yung mga players na puwede naming tignan. We have been scouting already. Marami na rin.”

“May mga ininvite kami na iba. We want to be bigger but sa age bracket, medyo nahihirapan kami. Nag-invite kami ng mahahabang players. We will see,” said Tenorio.
