WHEN baby Kevin Vennan grows up, his champion dad Kevin Quiambao hopes he’ll tread the same sporting path as his.
For now, the reigning UAAP Season and Finals MVP wants to focus on adding new chapters to an already-fabled young career he’s had thus far.
And out of all the stories he can read and tell his child, it’s his own basketball journey which he’s keen on sharing the most.

Quiambao will add another badge of honor as he’ll suit up for Gilas Pilipinas in the second window of the 2025 Fiba Asia Cup Qualifiers later this month.
The UAAP will hit pause on the men’s basketball tournament just before Final Four action unfolds where KQ and La Salle have locked in the No. 1 seed fof the first time in eight years.

Not to mention, this will be Quiambao’s first tour of duty for flag and country as a father, making it one of the most motivating life and career highlights he’ll ever have.
“Ito yung ikukuwento ko sa kanya in the future na nakapaglaro ako ng Gilas and then hopefully, makuha rin siya in the future,” Quiambao said.
“Added motivation din ‘to dahil lagi ko lang silang iniisip every time. Every after game, chine-check ko sila kung okay lang ba sila. Kahit busy ako sa training, games, hinding-hindi ko sila nakakalimutang i-check.”
Nearly two months has passed since KQ’s partner Faye gave birth to Kevin Venann, the namesake of the MVP’s late grandfather ‘Tatay Dha.’
A sleepless Quiambao even played for La Salle less than 24 hours after that life milestone with a near-triple-double of 12 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists in a 68-62 win over Far Eastern University.
This time, he’ll have just over a week with his Gilas wards to prepare for their qualifying matches on home soil against New Zealand (Nov. 21) and Hong Kong (Nov. 24) at the Mall of Asia Arena.
