    KOBE Paras is coming home.

Weeks after announcing his decision to leave US NCAA Division I school Cal State Northridge to turn pro, the son of former PBA MVP Benjie Paras is returning to the country to play organized basketball, likely with Gilas Pilipinas.

The 6-foot-6 high-flyer's scheduled arrival was announced on Wednesday by Gilas sponsor Chooks-to-Go on its Facebook page.

Paras has not played organized basketball since last year when he suited up for the national team that won the gold medal in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur.

Before that, he also played in the 2017 FIBA 3X3 World Cup in Nantes, France and the Jones Cup in Chinese-Taipei.

Upon his arrival, the 20-year-old forward will immediately join members of the Gilas cadet pool that are gearing up for their participation in the Filoi preseason tournament.

The development opens up the possibility that Paras can play for national teams seeing action in the 2018 Fiba 3x3 World Cup in Manila, the Asian Games in Indonesia, or the third window of the qualifiers for the 2019 Fiba World Cup in China.
