COLUMN: Gilas roster changes are a must - not an option
He brings with him the wealth of experience and learnings from his Gilas stint where he became one of its most reliable players at the FIBA Asia Cup 2025.
Gilas will resume its campaign come November for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian qualifiers where they are in Group A with Australia, New Zealand, and Guam.
“It’s a great learning experience for us,” said Quiambao. “We will carry this over on to the next one in November.”
The two-time UAAP MVP was the third leading scorer of Gilas with a 12.0-point average per game and was an efficient 55 percent from the field. He also shot 10-of-13 from threes.
Quiambao had a team-high 17 points after burying 5-of-8 from threes during the 84-60 quarterfinal loss to Australia.

KQ and Goyang now aim to reach the playoffs after missing the postseason with a 19-35 win-loss record in his maiden campaign in the KBL.
