AUSTRALIA beat Kazakhstan, 81-60, on Thursday night in the Fiba Basketball World Cup Asian qualifiers at the Republican Velodrome Saryaka in Astana.
Isaac Humphries had 17 points and seven rebounds for Australia, which improved to 10-1 in Group F. The Aussies have already secured a place in the 2019 Fiba World Cup in China.
Australia spoiled the effort of Kazakhstan’s naturalized player Anthony Clemmons, who had a game-high 31 points for the home team.
Kazakhstan dropped to 4-7 and remained in fifth place in Group F and were eliminated from the qualifiers after the Philippines beat Qatar in Doha later in the night.
The Kazakhs will play Team Pilipinas at home on Sunday in their final match in the World Cup qualifiers.
