    KARL-ANTHONY Towns spearheads the final roster of Dominican Republic bound for the 2023 Fiba Basketball World Cup in Manila.

    Towns, as expected, stands at the head of the 12-man roster, according to a report by Dominicanos En Basket, after the Minnesota Timberwolves star committed to play for the Dominican national team during the NBA offseason.

    KAT led the way in the team's big win over Canada in a tuneup in Granada, Spain, scoring 20 points to go with six rebounds and two assists.

    Another player to watch for Dominican Republic is Lester Quinones, who played in five games with the Golden State Warriors last season and is now signed to a two-way contract with their G League team Santa Cruz Warriors.

      Quinones also suited up for Golden State in the recent NBA Summer League.

      Also in the roster are Spain domestic league campaigners Jean Montero and Andres Feliz, Gelvis Solano, Rigoberto Mendoza, Victor Liz, Gerardo Suero, LJ Figueroa, Antonio Pena, Angel Delgado, and Eloy Vargas.

      The Dominican Republic will be the first opponent of Gilas Pilipinas in the Fiba Basketball World Cup as they will play on August 25 at the Philippine Arena.
