CHICAGO - Now that his stint with the Yokohama B-Corsairs in the Japan B.League has concluded, Kai Sotto is enjoying a little bit of fun and family time in Las Pinas.
After a brief fling with rest and recreation, the 7-foot-3 center will resume training with strength and conditioning guru Mel Lantin at the famed Fit Twenty One sweatshop.

In an interview posted at the social media accounts of the Samahang Basketbol Ng Pilipinas (SBP), Gilas coach Tim Cone said on Monday that "[Kai] is actually, I think, in an NBA camp right now."
Cone isn't entirely wrong given that Kai will indeed head to the US soon.
"We are still figuring it out," Wasserman Sports executive Tony Ronzone told SPIN.ph via text message. "NBA teams are in Chicago for the draft combine and still working on mini-camp dates and workout dates."
Last June, Sotto participated in NBA mini camps with the Utah Jazz, the Dallas Mavericks and the New York Knicks before being invited by the Orlando Magic for their Summer League roster in July.
Sotto's stint with the Magic was, however, limited by lack of playing time and a lower back strain that held him to a total of two games.
But after impressive showings at the FIBA World Cup 2023 and in his just-concluded season in Japan, Sotto, who turned 22 last May 11, is expected to make a big push to make his NBA dream a reality this year.
