Justin Brownlee joins Gilas Pilipinas practice amid SEA Games buildup

Naturalization candidate makes surprise appearance alongside coach Alex Compton

JUSTIN Brownlee joined Gilas Pilipinas practice on Monday night as the national squad resumed practice at the Meralco Gym.

The Barangay Ginebra import joined Gilas practice in the middle of the national team’s preparation for the Southeast Asian Games.

Also present in Gilas practice was former Alaska coach Alex Compton although it wasn’t clear at the moment what his role be with the team.

    All members of the Gilas pool except Jayson Castro and Matthew Wright were present in the team’s last practice before heading into the month of November.

    Castro is absent due to a soleus muscle strain in his right leg he sustained during TNT’s recent game in the PBA Governors’ Cup. The TNT point guard is not likely to be part of the final roster due to the injury, according to Gilas head coach Tim Cone.
