ANTIPOLO - June Mar Fajardo already put a period on his Gilas Pilipinas career, making it clear that he wouldn't have suited up even if asked to play for the national team one last time in the just-concluded 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.

The 36-year-old Fajardo made it clear that the game against Iran in the last window of the FIBA World Cup qualifiers was his last with the national team.

Period.

"OK na ako sa national team," he said Saturday night at the Ynares Center.

Fajardo noted a different set of players were sent by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) to Nagoya, Japan for the Asiad as the core of the Gilas team was allowed to rest by coach Tim Cone.

The Filipinos failed to defend the basketball gold medal after failing to advance past the group stage, eventually finishing ninth overall for the country's worst finish in Asiad history.
