JR Quinahan is set to bring much-needed experience to the national team bound for the Fiba 3x3 World Cup next month.

The NLEX cager is being counted upon to join young, celebrated cagers in Kobe Paras, Jeron Teng, and Kiefer Ravena in the June 17-21 showpiece in Nantes, France.

Quinahan replaced Raymar Jose, who was unavailable as he is set to play for the Cignal Hawkeyes in the PBA D-League which starts on Thursday.

The Cebuano big man, however, is seen as a welcome addition to a team is looking to surpass its ninth-place finish last year.

His outside shooting and physical presence inside is seen as a perfect complement to the athleticism of his younger teammates.

Team consultant Eric Altamirano told SPIN.ph on Tuesday that Quinahan has been given clearance by NLEX management after joining Ravena, Paras, and Teng in practice on Monday night.
