JERICHO Cruz said he is still unsure of playing for Guam in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 following his campaign with San Miguel in the PBA 49th Season Philippine Cup where he captured the Finals MVP.
Cruz revealed after Game 6 last Friday night that he actually played through a knee injury during the PBA Finals.

“Pag-iisipan… Since Game One, hindi ko lang sinasabi din, pero may iniinda din ako sa tuhod ko. So everyday, kung nagsa-shot si June Mar [Fajardo], nagsa-shot din ako ng painkillers,” said Cruz.
“So pag-iisipan ko muna the next days kung papahinga ako o tutuloy ako,” he added.
In a separate interview with SPIN.ph after Game 5, Cruz bared his wife Mosh being pregnant with their third child adds to the uncertainty.
“To be honest, hindi ko pa iniisip ‘yun,” said Cruz back then. “Pag-iisipan ko pa tapos buntis pa si Misis, gusto ko rin magbakasyon.”
Guam is definitely hoping that Cruz will be suiting up with the national set to debut in the FIBA Asia Cup in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia next month following a successful qualification campaign.
Cruz has been playing for Guam in FIBA tournaments since 2020. He saw action in all their eight Asia Cup qualifiers and averaged 10.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 4.1 assists.
Guam didn't book a ticket to Jeddah until the final qualification tournament last March, where Cruz had 21 points in an 89-81 win over Thailand.
Guam is in Group B along with Japan, Iran, and Syria.
